I beg your forgiveness you two people who read this.
I started my practicum for my interpreting degree and will be finishing up in December. One more month. Its amazing that I have made it this far. Now I have to take my EIPA so that I can work once I have graduated. So far it looks like I will either be hired by the school district that I am currently working for, or I will become a substitute interpreter (more control over my own schedule)
Anyway on to the knitting...
I went to the stash swap at my Sit and knit a while back and this is what I got...
Two skeins of sock yarn (sooo yummy) that go together nicely to be...
A Chevron scarf! (I am such a follower, but really when E says Those would be great together! I tend to listen. Shes MUCH better with color than I am)
This pic is of one that has since been ripped and reknit. I didn't like the pooling of lights on one side and darks on the other. Now it is doing some very cool pattern with the pooling that I think I will keep. Pictures later when I have time.
I know this one is cotton and something else. I also know that it is laceweight. Apparently I am slowly becoming addicted to lace weight yarns. I love them so!
And my first skein of Tofutsies! So pretty. I have no idea what to make with it but I could not resist when I saw they were tofutsies. So that and some wool yarn for some kid slippers (that I probably won't get to this winter) is what I got from the swap. Good haul really.
I have more stuff to show you but I must be off. Busy day ahead of me!
Interpretingly,
Dee
The Princess being much too cute for her own good during the yarny photo shoot.
So even though I can not afford anything lately I decided to treat myself when I received my financial aid. I decided that seeing as how I am working my little tushie off trying I deserved a reward. So that reward is a Golding Spindle. I will wait a moment while you wipe the drool off your chin. It is absolutely beautiful! I would show you but the pictures are being held captive on my camera while the battery charges. It is lovely. And it spins like a dream. (yeah I already started spinning with it. Like the second I took it out of the package. Love it!)
Yeah I did some stash enhancement last week. I got this from a woman destashing and selling 6 balls cheap. How could I resist?
Then there was this stuff...
Laceweight, 1,200yrds each. obtained for 25.00. Again, how could I resist?
Roving, Llama black with pink (merino I think should go look) it is soo pretty and soft.
I have a purse coming, the Great American Aran Afghan book, a necklace, some sock needles, and more laceweight. Pictures of those once I receive them. I am done now. I am offically on a yarn diet. I gave myself a budget for spoiling my self and boy did I meet it fast. Make it fun to get the mail everyday. The only thing that I have left to buy is some PVC because Miss V loaned me her Kids Weaving book and there are instructions on how to make a PVC weaving loom. (yes I know I don't like PVC, but i can paint it and making it will be even cheaper than buying a PVC weaving loom.)
Anyway...
In the WIP department...
TJ's sweater from hell is on the sleeves! Yes. I finished the body! Now I am working on a sleeve (about half way through it) the it is on to the other sleeve, the neck and then DONE! So close yet so far away.
And I started a new traveling project. A pair of socks for the Princess. The other things that I am knitting right now are too big to carry around so I had to cast on something!
I need to go hang out with the Princess before I have to go to school so I will talk to you all later!
weakingly,
Dee
